When a laptop screen is cracked you may not see a physical crack in the glass. What you’ll usually see is the internal liquid crystal leaking black patterns of ink in various areas inside the display. The screen may look distorted. At this point it cannot be fixed but must be replaced.
Should you replace it? There can be an advantage to replacement. Typically, depending on the cost of the screen, it is cheaper than buying a new computer, although there are considerations other than cost. A benefit beyond cost is that you don't lose anything. You keep all your settings and data files on the laptop.
