Vernay Russell, wife and mother of two sons, one of whom is special needs, recently finished a training course at PC Tutor. Amazingly, Vernay, who was briefly laid off, also works part time at a busy restaurant. She agreed to sit down with us so we could get her thoughts on her training.
Oh my goodness, it’s been at least a decade. I’ve had a PC that long in my house. And like I told you before, the only thing I could do was just search for certain things. Unlike my sons, they really know how to navigate their way through something. It’s been quite awhile.
I was leery because I felt like I would be like a fish out of water. I was thinking that everybody else would be so much more advanced. I didn’t really want a big classroom setting. This was perfect. The one-on-one, it helped me a lot. And there was even one time when I thought I couldn’t do it. But you stayed on me and made me get through it. And I’m so grateful for that.
I received a letter from you during the time when I was laid off from work. And I was like now is the best time. My son was still in summer school because, you know, he’s special needs, everything is about him, revolves around him. But I found I could set up this particular date every Wednesday, and I could come and do this class. And I was determined nothing was going to stop me.
Zero.
I can word process. I can make documents. I can make a spreadsheet. And my favorite thing is cut, copy and paste.
The one-on-one. The one-on-one, that was the best. I had your undivided attention, and you didn’t press me. You let me go at my own speed or whatever. And for that I am very, very grateful.
Annie Jone’s granddaughter was on her way to college, and she wanted to purchase a computer for her. Annie called PC Tutor. “I’ve had work done by you before, and I received an advertisement in the mail,” Annie said. “I feel refurbished ones are almost as good as the new ones, less cost."
PC Tutor found her granddaughter a Lenovo 110-15ACL laptop. After buying the system, Annie said, “ I think it’s wonderful. The features are good. It’s not that heavy, nice screen. And I think my granddaughter will be satisfied with it.“
When asked if she liked the process of having someone find a computer for her she said, “Right, you prepared it for me and within a couple of days you have the computer.”
Do you like this method of buying a computer, Annie? “Yes, I do. I have already referred my sister-in-law to you.”
The work performed on my PC was quick and very helpful. I was very satisfied. I would definitely do business with PC Tutor again in the future!!
The business is serious about keeping and helping the student to learn from the teaching of the PC. A very clean classroom and Sharon Jeter is a great teacher.
I liked that PC Tutor was not playing guessing game. They provided a quick diagnostic of the problem which allowed the problem to be fixed right away.
I have used PC Tutor services on several occasions. Each time I received nothing but exceptional service. The repairs were done in a timely fashion. They stayed in communication to inform me of updates, charges, etc. They are very hands on when working with you, and their prices are reasonable.
Not only is she good at training but she is kind.
Fairly inexpensive compared to the other computer stores. Quicker turnaround than other stores. Located in City of Detroit, Six Mile, easy access. Nice lady runs the place.
She tells you what is wrong before she fixes it, and makes sure you know what is going on before you leave. If you have a problem after that she has no problem fixing it. And she is also very nice.
